Fantasy Football: Start And Sits Week 4 2021

By Pat Pitts

The NFL has never been more entertaining. Fans witnessed history TWICE last week with both plays happening on special teams. It’s time to make some history with your own special teams. Making the perfect lineup is not easy, but luckily, I am here to help. Here are a few players that I am putting in and taking out of my lineup.

START

Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill @ NYJ

Tannehill has not played his best football over the past three weeks, ranking as QB19 across fantasy platforms. However, he plays the Jets this week. The Jets have been outscored 51-6 in their last two games. Start Tannehill with confidence on Sunday.

Aaron Rodgers vs PIT

It seems strange to write this, but Rodgers did it to himself. He launches himself back into being a Top-Five QB with his matchup against the Steelers. The Steelers defense has allowed an average of 265 passing yards per game. Rodgers returns as a weekly top QB after his performance this week.

Baker Mayfield @ MIN

The Vikings have allowed over 400 total yards in their first three games. Baker Mayfield and the Browns have looked sensational in their first three games. Mayfield ranks as a top start in Week 4.

Running Backs

Najee Harris @ GB

The Packers have allowed over 100 yards on the ground in two of their three games this season. Harris is the only bright spot of the Steelers offense, so ride his wave until it hits the shore.

Peyton Barber @ LAC

Barber rushed for a career-high 111 yards on Sunday and he faces the Chargers this week, who have the worst rushing defense in the league. He is a solid RB2 option so long as Josh Jacobs remains out of lineup.

Zack Moss vs HOU

Moss has been under the fantasy radar in 2021, having scored three times in the past two weeks. The Texans continue to struggle stopping the run, which makes Moss is an interesting play at RB2.

Wide Receivers

DJ Moore @ DAL

Sam Darnold has targeted Moore ten times in the past two games, finishing with 126 yards on eight catches last Thursday. The Cowboys rank 31st defensively against the pass. I don’t have anything more to say other than start him.

Julio Jones @ NYJ

Julio Jones usually doesn't play poorly in consecutive weeks. He will look to bounce back against the Jets on Sunday as he is almost guaranteed an uptick in targets, leading to a massive bump in production.

Mike Williams vs LVR

The Chargers list Mike Williams as their WR2, yet Williams ranks as the overall WR2 in fantasy football so far in 2021. He has yet to finish with under 20 points this season and I don’t see it ending any time soon.

Tight Ends

Tyler Conklin vs CLE

The Browns secondary has shined these past few games. Their focus will be centered around Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen, giving Conklin more opportunities to make plays and rack up fantasy points. Take advantage of it while you can.

Dalton Schultz vs CAR

Schultz caught two touchdown passes against the Eagles, which led to him being crowned TE1 for Week 3. Dak Prescott has targeted him more than Blake Jarwin in 2021, which makes him a great boom TE2 play.

Austin Hooper @ MIN

Hooper caught a touchdown pass in the red zone last week and against a bad Vikings defense, he may do it again. I believe he will and you should too.

SIT

Quarterbacks

Tom Brady @ NE

There is no way Tom Brady goes into Gillette Stadium against his former coach and blows them out. The Patriots have a special game plan this week (I can feel it). It may be best to watch from a distance.

Kyler Murray @ LAR

After finishing with 33 points in his first two games, Murray ended Week 3 with under 20 fantasy points against a bad Jags defense. He has to deal with Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey this week. It is a week to consider streaming a QB, so guys like Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins are safer starts.

Jalen Hurts vs KC

The Chiefs lost to the Chargers last week, so they are out for blood. Hurts will struggle to move the ball down field in the air, relying on Sanders to do it on the ground. Pick another QB to start this week.

Running Backs

Johnathon Taylor @ MIA

Taylor makes his case for biggest bust of 2021 as he continues to struggle in his first three games. Nyheim Hines has taken away some carries, leading to Taylor being part of the committee, not the head of it.

Mike Davis vs WFT

The Washington Football Team’s defense has disappointed fans to begin the season and while the Falcons may have won against the Giants, they have had a difficult time getting the running game going, which could spell disaster for an immobile Matt Ryan.

Chuba Hubbard @ DAL

Chuba Hubbard replaces Christian McCaffrey this week due to a short-term injury. He proved to be a solid waiver claim, but he is not an instant starter. I advise fantasy managers to wait a week before slotting him into your lineups.

Wide Receivers

DeAndre Hopkins @ LAR

Jalen Ramsey lines up against Hopkins on Sunday. Ramsey typically shuts down all receivers, so lower your expectations this week.

Tyler Lockett vs SF

DK Metcalf seems to have taken over the WR1 role for the time being, as Lockett disappointed managers with his performance against the Vikings. I expect the same to happen on Sunday.

Brandin Cooks @ BUF

Cooks has a bad matchup this week against Tre White and the Bills. It is not the best idea to take your chances with Cooks, especially with the uncertainty of Davis Mills.

Tight Ends

Mike Gesicki vs IND

Mike Gesicki has been named the Darius Leonard Sit of the Week. Leonard has shut down opposing TEs over the last two games, holding them to one catch and eight yards. Gesicki can find a spot on the bench.

Jonnu Smith vs TB

Until Jonnu Smith learns how to catch a football, he is an indefinite sit.

Mark Andrews vs DEN

The Broncos defense has proven to be a threat to begin the year. Von Miller and Bradley Chubb are going to wreak havoc in the backfield, causing Lamar a lot of problems. Don’t have them be yours too.
