Fantasy Football: Week 13 Waiver Wire Targets
By Pat Pitts
The FINAL week of the 2020 Fantasy Football season is here! This could be your final waiver period to help win your league so let's get into scooping up those league winners.
Quarterbacks
Kirk Cousins (Rostered in 20% of ESPN leagues and 40% of Yahoo leagues)
Cousins has thrown for 12 touchdowns since the Vikings Week 7 bye and has back to back weeks of over 300 passing yards. He has finished as a QB1 the past three weeks, clocking in at QB11, QB5, and QB3 respectfully. He goes up against the Jaguars this week which should put him in line for another fantastic week.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (Rostered in 22% of ESPN leagues and 20% of Yahoo leagues)
With Tua sidelined, Fitzpatrick stepped back into the starting role last week and posted 257 yards and 2 touchdowns 0 interceptions against the New York Jets.
Miami hosts the Bengals this week, who have been abysmal on defense this season. If you are in need of a boom play to make the playoffs, Fitzpatrick is worth the add this week.
Philip Rivers (Rostered in 13% ESPN leagues and 33% of Yahoo leagues)
While Rivers struggled in Week 12, he's still a decent add to your roster this week with the likes of Tom Brady and Teddy Bridgewater on bye weeks and guys like Carson Wentz and Matthew Stafford struggling. If you want to shake things up for one week, Rivers might be your guy.
Running Backs
Adrian Peterson (Rostered in 35% of ESPN leagues and 46% of Yahoo leagues)
With D'Andre Swift still recovering from his concussion, Adrian Peterson is going to continue to lead the Lions backfield under Interim Head Coach Darrell Bevell. With no Ronald Jones, CMC, or Mike Davis this week due to bye weeks and injuries, Peterson is a high quality add for a struggling Lions team.
Wayne Gallman (Rostered in 58% of ESPN leagues and 78% of Yahoo leagues)
He rushed 24 times for 94 yards and a touchdown in Week 12, his fifth straight week finding the end zone. He has finished as a Top-24 RB every week since Week 7 and should be rostered in every league at this point.
Latavius Murray (Rostered in 48% of ESPN leagues and 60% of Yahoo leagues)
Alvin Kamara is the RB2 across all ESPN platforms and was the RB2 in his own offense on Sunday. Latavius Murray took the reigns rushing 19 times for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Murray has been used more in the offense since Drew Brees was injured. The Saints look like they will be at the top of the division heading into Weeks 15-17, giving Murray a chance to see RB1 numbers during the fantasy playoffs.
Wide Receivers
Collin Johnson (Rostered in <1% of ESPN leagues and 0% of Yahoo leagues)
The Jaguars' problems continued Sunday in a loss to the Browns, but Collin Johnson provided a bright spot with his performance, racking up four catches, 94 yards, and a touchdown. With big name WRs on bye weeks this week, Johnson is a decent FLEX add in a matchup against a mediocre Vikings secondary.
Gabriel Davis (Rostered in 1.1% of ESPN leagues and 3% of Yahoo leagues)
With John Brown on IR, Gabriel Davis had himself a great Week 12 performance, tallying three catches, 79 yards, and a touchdown. This add is more for dynasty and deeper leagues, but Davis has upside especially with a lot of younger guys and back ups taking the field during the fantasy playoffs.
Chad Beebe (Rostered in <1% of ESPN leagues and 0% of Yahoo leagues)
Beebe caught seven passes for 63 yards and snagged the game winning touchdown in Week 12 as the Vikings came away with a nail-biting win over the Panthers. Cousins spreads the ball around, so if you need WR help or depth, Beebe is a decent 14-team league add.
Allen Lazard (Rostered in 28% of ESPN leagues and 39% of Yahoo leagues)
Lazard came back from injury in Week 12 and posted decent numbers in his first game back, catching four passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.
Yes, that is not a sexy stat line, but it shows me that Rodgers missed Lazard. He was the WR2 before his injury and has a tasty matchup with Avonte Maddox and the Eagles in Week 13.
Tight Ends
Robert Tonyan (Rostered in 46% of ESPN leagues and 61% of Yahoo leagues)
Tonyan had another TE1 performance this week against the Bears catching five passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. He's a TE2 for the rest of the season with major upside since he catches passes from Aaron Rodgers.
Logan Thomas (Rostered in 25% of ESPN leagues and 41% of Yahoo leagues)
Thomas is a great red zone and a 3rd down threat in a Washington offense that is begging for support in the passing game behind Terry McLaurin. I would be more confident starting Thomas throughout the fantasy playoffs than a number of big name TEs that are your typical starters.
Trey Burton (Rostered in 6% of ESPN leagues and 19% of Yahoo leagues)
Burton saw a season high in targets in the Colts Week 12 loss to the Titans, and he scored another touchdown. Burton has become a clear favorite target for Rivers over the last month and should be on your roster heading into the fantasy playoffs.
May the waiver wire adds be ever in your favor as we approach the fantasy playoffs!
