Week 6 sprung a number of surprise performances across the fantasy football multiverse and saw some usual suspects continue to defend your path to a fantasy title. But, we also saw injuries, under-performers, and the first wave of Bye week blues. Let's get those rosters ready to do battle in Week 7 with these Waiver Wire targets.
Kirk Cousins (Rostered in 45% of ESPN leagues and 75% of Yahoo leagues)
Cousins played his best game in Week 6, throwing for a season high 373 yards and three touchdowns. He has a Bye this week, but is a quality streaming option with favorable upcoming matchups when the Vikings return to play in Week 8.
Derek Carr (Rostered in 47% of ESPN leagues and 52% of Yahoo leagues)
Carr rose to the occasion this week in a statement win against the Broncos. He has thrown two touchdowns every week, but one, and has thrown the second-most yards in the NFL, only trailing Tom Brady. As a result, this Top-3 QB will not be available in most leagues heading into the second half of the season.
Teddy Bridgewater (Rostered in 17% of ESPN leagues and 20% of Yahoo leagues)
Bridgewater finished with a season-high of 334 yards and three touchdowns. He remains a consistent option at QB, averaging 252 yards and 2.5 touchdowns to start the year. Bridgwater’s value remains as a high-end QB2 option.
J.D McKissic (Rostered in 46% of ESPN leagues and 42% of Yahoo leagues)
McKissic had a season high in carries and receptions against Kansas City, tallying 110 total yards on Sunday. He continues to vulture rushing attempts away from Antonio Gibson, launching him into potential RB2 approaching Bye weeks.
Latavius Murray (Rostered in 46% of ESPN leagues and 66% of Yahoo leagues)
Murray did not have the best day on the ground, but still found the end zone. Behind Lamar Jackson, Murray leads the Ravens backfield with 59 rushing attempts for 212 yards and four touchdowns. His availability will not last long so claim him now.
Demetric Felton (Rostered in 3% of ESPN leagues and 9% of Yahoo leagues)
Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are both injured and will miss time, launching Felton onto the fantasy radar. The Browns rookie RB has made an impression already in the passing game, and now he will need to step up in the running game. He’s going to be a popular add to fantasy rosters this week.
Donovan Peoples-Jones (Rostered in 1% of ESPN leagues and 2% of in Yahoo leagues)
Over the past two weeks, Peoples-Jones has racked up 171 yards and two touchdowns. There has not been a consistent receiver in the Browns offense, but with the double threat of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt sitting on the bench, the Dog Pound offense needs a revival. He’s a better addition than Odell Beckham, Jr.
A.J. Green (Rostered in 33% of ESPN leagues and 44% of Yahoo leagues)
The Cardinals saved A.J. Green’s career by signing him this offseason, and he is proving to be a reliable target for Kyler Murray. He caught five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown against the Browns and matches up against a terrible Texans secondary this week, so capitalize on the matchup.
Kendrick Bourne (Rostered in 3% of ESPN leagues and 2% of Yahoo leagues)
Bourne only caught one pass on Sunday, but it was a significant one. Mac Jones targets Bourne when he needs a big play, so why not benefit from it?
O.J. Howard (Rostered in 2% of ESPN leagues and 1% of Yahoo leagues)
Gronk does not seem to be returning anytime soon, and Howard stepped up last Thursday against the Eagles in the receiving game. He saw a season-high seven targets and notched his first TD of the season. Howard could bring consistency to the TE position in more than one starting lineup.
Pat Freiermuth (Rostered in 3% of ESPN leagues and 6% of Yahoo leagues)
Freiermuth caught all seven of his targets for 58 yards on Sunday night against the Seahawks. He played more snaps than Eric Ebron, which may be a sign of things to come. He has a ceiling of being a Top-15 TE and could help a lot of fantasy lineups as Bye weeks become a regular occurence.
C.J Uzomah (Rostered in 4% of ESPN leagues and 6% of Yahoo leagues)
Uzomah scored a touchdown against the Lions last week, giving him three touchdowns in his last three games. Joe Burrow continues to target him, making him worth adding to your squad... especially if injuries and Bye weeks are hurting you.
