The Mandalorian: Expectations For Ahsoka Tano's Live Action Debut

By Harrison Krementz

The day that Clone Wars fans have been patiently waiting for is almost here. We FINALLY get to see Ahsoka Tano in live action when the newest episode of The Mandalorian releases on Friday and I could not be more excited.

The Padawan of Anakin Skywalker had one of the best arcs as a character over the course of the Clone Wars series. She began as a headstrong kid, wanting to charge openly into battle rather than sitting back and staying safe. As the series went on, we saw Ahsoka become more sure of herself as a Jedi and, in the process, become one of the most well rounded characters in the entire Star Wars canon.

She cut through battle droids like they were nothing, fought some of the worst bad guys in the galaxy (General Grievous, Darth Maul, and Darth Vader to name a few) and survived Order 66. All the hard choices, all of the loss that she went through in Clone Wars and Rebels have led to her being introduced in The Mandalorian. So what should we expect from her live action debut?

Chapter 13 is going to begin with Mando and Baby Yoda finally reaching Corvus, a new planet in the Star Wars universe. The Razor Crest is finally back in working order, so the trip there from Nevarro shouldn’t take too long. It’s there that we’ll meet Ahsoka, probably in isolation to keep the remnants of the Empire/the beginning of the First Order off of her tail.

Her first interaction with Baby Yoda should be interesting, considering Ahsoka knew Master Yoda during her days as a Padawan. We might even find out more about their species, which would be MASSIVE.

From there, Mando and Ahsoka will most likely go out and do a quest together, as that’s what has happened in most of the episodes this season so far. They’ll gain trust in each other, and Baby Yoda will finally have someone to guide him in the ways of the Force. As the episode draws to a close, we see a couple First Order ships come out of hyperspace onto Corvus’ doorstep. The trackers on the Razor Crest have led them straight to Mando, setting up a confrontation in Chapter 14.

Ahsoka is probably my favorite character in all of Star Wars. She’s an extremely powerful Force user, really talented with a lightsaber, and has no real flaws as a character because they were worked out over multiple seasons in the Clone Wars and Rebels. Friday is going to change the course of The Mandalorian forever, possibly the live action Star Wars universe, and it’s going to be awesome.
